Yoo-hoo Promos: By far some of the coolest on-pack promotions were the ones that I worked on for the Yoo-hoo Team. These promotions were especially challenging because they were all “On-Pack” and affected nearly every single Yoo-hoo package in the brand portfolio. To add complication there were two different promotions per year, the summer promotion and the “Back-to-School” promo.


These promos might have affected the labels, aluminum cans, tetra’s, gable containers, 6-packs, cases and the caps. They were also tied to prizes and sweepstakes and were time dependent. I am sure that the operations teams cursed us out with the sheer volume of packaging that we were throwing their way.


Bochanis Rogan Zoom was always the agency of choice for the Yoo-hoo brand. They brought a unique blend of edgy design and flawless execution that allowed us to boldly communicated the Yoo-hoo brand to consumers.


The promotions were so integrated that the prize caps became part of the promotion and were instantly collectable, for “Burnt Rubber Summer” we had a super cool “mag wheel” cap. For the back to school with the Simpsons we had nine different caps each with a classic character.


We also worked on some great, now-discontinued flavor extensions such as Dyna-mocha. A coffee flavored Yoo-hoo that I thought tasted pretty good!
